Don is a global Human Resource Business Leader and Strategist with a coach and mentor leadership style. Expertise in the design and delivery of HR solutions creating a positive work environment, motivating & driving performance. He creates competitive advantage and delivers organizational capabilities. Partnering with Business Leaders, he forms a culture and atmosphere engaging people, trained and focused on success. Building tactical and strategic HR programs to attract, grow, and recruit a diverse and inclusive workforce is his passion. Experienced in leading an HR team with domestic and international scope.
Taking the wealth of knowledge gained while providing solutions to Fortune 100 companies, Don is now using his expertise helping small & mid cap companies formulate their HR strategy, improve HR processes & systems, and reduce compliance risk. These clients are start-up and growth companies in the technology, pharmaceutical, industrial products & services, eCommerce, logistics & SCM, and financial sector.
Previously, Don held leadership positions with GE, Cameron International Corporation, Panalpina, Cable & Wireless plc and Compaq Computer Corporation. Extensive experience supporting all areas of business operations, global service, manufacturing, sales, R&D, laboratory, engineering, logistics/SCM, eCommerce, finance and c-suite/HQ.
Over the course of his career, Don has taken on challenging roles of increasing scope and responsibility. He has effectively led HR teams across North & South America and the UK, overseeing HR transformation, talent acquisition, learning & development, talent management, HR strategy, workforce planning, change management, mergers & acquisitions, total rewards, employee & labor relations, and organizational design. He led global and domestic HR projects linked to key business strategies.
Tech savvy is how many describe Don. He utilizes data, analytics, and systems to monitor and predict trends, solve problems and deliver results. He continuously seeks how to improve business and people performance. Well verse in many HR systems and technology able to master quickly. He is also a OneNote expert, operating paperless since 2014.
Don has worked on multiple key business initiatives including the post-acquisition incorporation of three generic pharmaceutical businesses, improvement of operational efficiencies and people strategy at a 1000+ person healthcare service business, the HR workstream project at Panalpina when a well-known global luxury product firm outsourced their eCommerce, logistics and distribution to Panalpina, integration and organizational re-design of Vetco Gray Inc. NA & SA operations into the GE Oil & Gas division, the assimilation of Compaq North America operations (3,000+ people) post purchase of Digital Computer Corp and Tandem Computers. Divestiture of Cable & Wireless a-Services joint venture with Compaq and Microsoft.
Don is active in the HR community, is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, Morris County SHRM as past Communications Leader, volunteer Firefighter in Morris Township, NJ and held leadership roles in multiple company sponsored community relations boards. He has presented Human Resource topics at Rutgers University, Louisiana State University, Texas Tech, University of Houston, various veterans and community workshops on workforce trends and employment transition. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Industrial Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. In 2019, he earned his MBA with concentrations in Global Business, Strategy, & Entrepreneurship from Rutgers Business School.
